Preparing for change

ATIC has been responsible for producing new guidance on tenant empowerment.

From October 2008, simpler ways to promote tenant management will be available in both the local authority and the Registered Social Landlord sectors.

ATIC is working with Instep and the Housing Corporation to promote these changes. ATIC is also producing its own publicity to support members.

Regional events

ATIC has run three regional conferences to promote tenant and community empowerment and showcase some of the projects that have received TEP grant funding

The first two - in Leeds and Walsall - attracted over 100 delegates each looking at new tenant empowerment policies and at neighbourhood management.

The final event on Wednesday 27th February took place in London, and Communities Secretary Hazel Blears joined as guest speaker.
